Once the egg has matured, the follicle will rupture to release the egg. This whole process may cause discomfort and mild pain. Fluid Release: A fluid or small amount of blood is released together with the egg, which can irritate the surrounding abdominal tissue, causing discomfort. Involvement of nerves and blood vessels: The release of the fluid and blood can stimulate nerves in the abdomen, causing cramping sensations which can sometimes be described as sharp.  What Does the Pain Feel Like? Examples include, vitamin C and E, Zinc, Folic Acid, and Selenium. Some fruits and vegetables like berries, leafy greens, nuts and seeds, whole grains, and lean protein also help improve sperm quality.  Exercise Regular physical activity can boost overall health, including fertility. Exercising helps to regulate and boost sperm count, motility, and morphology. Moreover, it helps to reduce stress levels and maintain a healthy body weight, which positively impacts fertility. The best type of exercises for fertility are the low-impact activities like walking, swimming, and yoga. Weight Management Maintaining a healthy weight can improve sperm quality. A healthy weight will produce a healthy and balanced hormone health. In addition to this, a healthy weight management also means reducing the risk of obesity and having regulated insulin health and avoiding the occurrence of chronic inflammation, which is often associated with obesity. The best way to manage weight is to practice healthy eating habits and exercise. Stress Reduction Managing stress through techniques like meditation or yoga can be beneficial. Regular meditation and mindfulness practices can reduce stress and anxiety. Another way to help manage stress would be to practice deep breathing to help calm the body and mind, prioritizing sleep to allow the body to rest and rejuvenate and manage a work-life balance. However, the key to maintaining a healthy weight for egg and sperm health, is a balanced diet.  Exercise: Physical activity is essential for healthy blood circulation to support your reproductive health. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it is recommended to have at least 150 minutes of physical activity a week. Exercises should be done moderately, and intensity-level should be adjusted accordingly to several factors like age, body type, and if you have any injuries. Remember to always listen to your body, as over-exertion can cause stress to the body. Stress Management: The inability to manage your stress levels can contribute to hormonal irregularities. Yoga and meditation are some of the common practices that you can incorporate in your daily life to better manage your stress levels. It is important to note that you should avoid using your phones before sleeping to decrease the blue light exposure, which can disrupt your sleep.
